🔥 Union Lutheran Church: Following Jesus More Closely This June
Union Lutheran Church’s June 2025 Messenger invites members to draw nearer to Christ during the season of Pentecost. Pastor Heidi Punt reflects on discipleship through the theme “Do You Follow Jesus This Close?,” encouraging believers to follow Him with faith, obedience, and love.
The month is filled with opportunities for worship, learning, and service:
Western North Carolina Mission Trip (June 2–7) — Commissioning and sending a team to serve others with “God’s hands and feet.”
Vacation Bible School (June 9–12) — Rise Up with Jesus brings faith to life through stories, crafts, and baking bread together.
Father’s Day & Holy Trinity Sunday (June 15) — Special breakfast, recognition of fathers, and a guest pastor while Pastor Heidi serves on a mission trip to Guatemala.
Mid-Week Meal Chefs (June 25) — A new program teaching families to plan and prepare affordable, healthy meals.
Throughout June and July, the congregation is also collecting school supplies for Rowan County children, continuing its outreach through the Mission Outreach Fund and benevolence support for Lutheran Military Veterans & Families Ministries.
The newsletter celebrates faith in action—through mission trips, education, and community care—reflecting Union Lutheran’s ongoing call to be:
“Christ Centered ~ Mission Driven ~ Traditionally Grounded ~ Congregationally Focused.”
